I don't see how this new development in China can obstruct the growth of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency generally. I think Bitcoin has proven to us that it's bigger and rooted than one country and it's digital currency. I believe Bitcoin is aiming for the moon, and I don't see how China's new digital currency can impair this trend.

The decision will increase the number of people using the digital yuan in China, as the unemployed (especially those seeking bank jobs) will switch to the digital yuan. Only a few hundred will get the job, but this step will motivate the youth to use it for the future.
But this is for China only, nothing to challenge BTC.
