If you do not know how to cook, you will probably end up eating precooked foods or anything else that you find in the fridge. Mastering cooking techniques such as grilling, steaming etc. will be very helpful to make your diet healthier.

Knowing how to cook not only saves calories but also improves the items in your shopping list. Also, drink plenty of water and limit the consumption of soft drinks and alcohol. You might have heard it many times in the past.

One of the great burdens of the diet is the amount of calories you consume. The water should be the main drink and soft drinks or alcohol periodic drinks, to be taken only during the weekends or occasions.
 
You're right dear, the kind of food we prepare helps in balance diet, if we prepare good meal and eat it at the right time. But if we eat meals that isn't nice in the body, containing calories it makes is grow fat, might even lead to obesity when we don't control the bad habit of feeding, the best is to eat well prepared meals with ingredients rich in health.
 
I was disappointed to learn that my wife doesn't know how to cook. Buying food every day is not a healthy lifestyle so I tried to learn cooking by myself. I always go for fresh ingredients and we never freeze meat or fish. For the vegetables and fruits I buy the fresh ones even if they are expensive. At least I have the peace of mind that what we eat are nutritious and good for our health.
 
Nature's has given us a lot of things in abundance and one of the things it's has given to us is water , good fruit and vegetables if we are really interested to live a healthy life then we need to consider eating and taking in what nature has given to us freely. Exercise is also important to our health. All these things are what we must do
